Local food producers and restaurants to showcase their skills

As part of Mullingar’s upcoming Discover Mullingar day, set for Sunday September 27, there will be a food and craft open-air market, incorporating the town’s Farmer’s Market.

The committee, who are yet to agree on a venue, are inviting food and craft producers from the Westmeath area to set up a stall on the day, free of charge, to show and sell their wares and produce.

Each participant must register by email or phone before Friday September 11 with details of their business and the produce/wares they wish to show/sell. Only those who have pre-registered will be allowed to attend on the day and early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Participants must provide their own stall and suitable cover for bad weather. Boots of cars and vans will not be allowed to display goods and there will be a parking area provided away from the venue. If power or water is required, the committee will discuss these options on a case-by-case basis. There will also be an option for those who specifically require an indoor venue, perhaps for a specialised display; please state this requirement upon registration.

Participants will also be required to have their own insurance in place for the day.

To register for the market, or to find out further information, please phone Ann on (087 ) 8125402 or email Caroline at [email protected]

Any other local businesses and groups that would like to take part in what will be a fantastic family fun day should contact Marie McCormack, regional tourism development officer at (044 ) 9350116 or email [email protected].
