Kin Khao Thai, Athlone’s celebrated Thai restaurant has been shortlisted for the 2009 Food and Wine Magazine Restaurant of the Year Awards. Now in its ninth year, the event to be held at the Mansion House in Dublin on August 23, showcases the best in the Irish food and hospitality world.
Kin Khao Thai has been wowing its customers with its award winning food for six years and in that time they have been recognised with awards from John and Sally McKenna’s Bridgestone Best Restaurant, Georgina Campbell’s Best in Ireland, Paolo Tullio’s Taste of Ireland, and more recently a coveted recommendation from The Michelin Guide, the world’s most important food and travel guide.
Commenting on the news, proprietor Adam Lyons gleefully said “Pardon the food pun, but this really is the icing on the cake for all of us at Kin Khao Thai. We will be open six years in September and this recognition is wonderful news coming on our anniversary. We are constantly working on improving every facet of Kin Khao Thai and the fact that these awards are nominations by the magazine’s readers tells us that our customers agree with what we are doing.”
