Building on the huge success of last year, the tourism sector in Co Roscommon is expecting a huge boost from this year’s Cruinniú sa Chaisleán Music and Cultural event, taking place in Roscommon Castle at the end of August.
This year’s two day event features such renowned artists as Paul Brady, the Celtic Tenors, Matt Molloy, John Carty, Arty McGlynn, Arcana Drum Corps, and the Bands of the Defence Forces, takes place on August 29 and 30, and promises to be a hugely entertaining weekend in the county as part of National Heritage Week.
Supporting this initiative, a number of select hospitality providers are offering special accommodation packages for the weekend, including tickets for the event. This ranges from guesthouse accommodation in the centre of Roscommon town, through to luxury 5-star accommodation in the county. There is strong demand for tickets for each fully-seated show taking place in Roscommon Castle, whilst a range of other activities and displays will take place in Roscommon town over the weekend, making it a real family festival occasion.
