Gardai appeal for info on burglaries

Gardai in Mullingar are seeking the public’s assistance with their investigations into two separate incidents which occurred over the past week.

Two individuals are being sought in connection with the burglary of a business premises in Kinnegad last Thursday, June 25.

The culprits, one armed with a lump hammer and the other with a screwdriver, entered the premises on Main Street, Kinnegad at approximately 8.45pm, jumped the counter, and threatened staff. They escaped with an undisclosed sum of money.

One of the perpetrators was wearing a light grey hoody and navy tracksuit bottoms, and had a mask covering their face.

The other was wearing a white jacket with a navy hoody underneath, and navy tracksuit bottoms.

In a separate incident, a resident confronted two men in his private residence at Chestnut Grove, Mullingar during the afternoon of Wednesday this week.

The man returned to his home between 2.30 and 3pm and noticed items on the floor. He then discovered two men in the house, both of whom pushed past him and ran out the door. A small amount of cash was taken.
