Technological University of the Shannon (TUS ) has launched the inaugural TUS Business Speaker Series, a monthly event tailored specifically for local industry across the regions.
The TUS Learning Gate Business Speaker Series is strategically designed to bring valuable insights and networking opportunities directly to local businesses using the existing connected Hubs network of remote working centres. These events will be hosted online on the last Thursday of each month from 12pm to 1pm ensuring a convenient time for busy professionals.
The first in the series took place on Thursday, January 25, and featured Mr John Finn, Managing Director of Treasury Solutions Ltd.
Businesses in each town/locality/region were invited to join this session in their local learning gate where Mr Finn delivered an excellent lecture on ‘The Outlook for Finance and the Financial Markets for 2024’, providing crucial insights for SMEs and corporate entities alike, across ESG, Commodity prices, interest rates, Geo-Politics, including the range of current Global Risks. Having overseen over €10 billion in structured debt and risk management deals, Mr Finn brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table.

About Learning in the Hubs
The Learning in the Hubs initiative sees Technological University of the Shannon (TUS ) partnering with Connected Hubs to offer higher-level education through selected hubs. There are currently 58 hubs participating across 23 counties.
Courses being offered for study are:
· Certificate in Supervisory Management Skills for Team Leaders (Level 6 ) - the objective being to support potential entrepreneurs, start-ups, and others locally with an interest in Management and Team Leadership.

The TUS Learning Gate is a community location/space where TUS students and academic staff can meet and learn together.
