The community of Rosemount has received €49,968 in the latest CLÁR Programme tranche of funding announced by the Government this week.
The funding will be allocated towards the upgrade of an outdoor recreation area at the local community centre, the hub of numerous activites regularly organised by the tight knit parish.
Welcoming the announcement, local Deputy, Robert Troy, stated that Rosemount Community Centre was one of nine projects allocated funding in County Westmeath.
“A total of nine projects in Westmeath have received over €350,000 in total funding under the 2023 CLÁR Programme. The funding has been allocated as part of a further €6.2 million allocation under the programme to 152 projects nationwide,” Deputy Troy said.
The new funding will go towards upgrades to the outdoor recreational area at Rosemount Commnity Centre, new public toilets at Gaine Park, wheelchair access to Multyfarnham Men’s Shed, provision of gym equipment for Streete Parish Park, upgrades through Raharney Tidy Towns, upgrade of heritage signage at Kilbeggan Linear Park, exercise equipment and restoration works at St Owens Church of Ireland, all weather seating at Gaine Parke and repair works to the wall at the access to Mayne graveyard.
“The €350,501 announced in funding under the CLÁR programme and the Government’s policy for rural Ireland, Our Rural Future, will make such a big difference in our local communities here in Westmeath.
“The funding will go towards a variety of projects locally. This includes €26,698 for restoration works to St Owens Church of Ireland, €33,525 for the installation of all-weather seating at Gaine Park and €49,968 for upgrades to the outdoor recreational area at Rosemount Community Centre. I am delighted that these projects have received this funding and I know they will be welcomed by everybody in our community.
