The Cupra brand experienced record growth in sales in 2023, while the Seat brand remains very popular in Ireland.
The combined sales of these brands surged by over 91 per cent compared to 2022, according to the latest Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI ) figures.
Sales of Cupra vehicles in Ireland tripled last year, with 1,655 sold in 2023 compared to 660 in 2022. The Seat brand enjoyed a 67.19 per cent increase in sales in 2023, with 2,752 units sold here.
Cupra attributes this surge to the popularity of specific models, notably the Formentor and the all-electric Born, whose sales last year finished at 689 and 635 respectively.
Seat's growth, on the other hand, was primarily driven by the enduring popularity of its SUV range, with the Arona (1,037 ) and Ateca (798 ) the brand's two best-sellers in 2023. Seat says its success in this segment indicates a well-received and competitive SUV lineup that meets the needs and preferences of Irish consumers.
