Athlone Castle & Visitor Centre was transformed into a magical festive experience with all the charm and atmosphere you would expect as Santa and Mrs Claus visited the historic location prior to Christmas.
Santa’s helpers greeted visitors in the Castle courtyard, and children met Mrs Claus who regaled them with her favourite Christmas stories from the cosy Castle Keep.
Visitors then made their way through the seasonally decorated Castle and enjoyed festive fun activities including crafts, games, and dress-up areas with Christmas music playing along the way to Santa’s Grotto.
Helpers guided visitors to the magical grotto where Santa Claus waited with cuddly gifts and a big ‘HO HO HO’ welcome for all the children.
Visitors enjoyed the festive atmosphere and sang along to Christmas carols as they sipped hot chocolate with marshmallows in the Castle courtyard before they finished their Christmas visit.
