Popular St Kieran’s Community Centre Christmas market set to benefit local branch of IWA

Preparations are under way for event of the season – the Christmas Market at St Kieran’s Community Centre, Athlone, on Saturday, November 25, from 10am-4pm.

The event will showcase the work of many local crafters and of course the main man Santa Claus himself will be in attendance, so get your letter ready and get your Christmas photo on the day too!

This is a fantastic initiative that supports local businesses as well as the local charity Irish Wheelchair Association Athlone. As usual, St Kierans community centre shows their festive spirit in facilitating this event.

The day promises to be a family fun-filled event that will get all those who attend in the Christmas mood and help to make a start on their festive gift shopping. In total, there will be 27 stalls present at the Christmas market.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the day by local groups on stage, local councillor Frankie Kenna acting as MC for the day. There will be lots of goodies to sample and festive cheer.

IWA spokesperson Monica Hughes stated that the IWA are so delighted to be the chosen charity partner on what promises to be great day.

“All proceeds raised will enhance the quality-of-service delivery in our local IWA day service that caters for the needs of both adults and children with disabilities in Athlone in the surrounding area. We truly appreciate your ongoing support,” Monica enthused.
