Prominent brand manager opens 2023/24 Digital Speaker Series at TUS Athlone Campus

Brand Manager at Lucozade Sport, Pat Spillane, delivered an empowering opening talk to students during the formal launch of the Digital Speaker Series at TUS Athlone recently.

The Digital Speaker Series, an in-person gathering of undergraduate and postgraduate students, secondary school students, industry professionals, and enthusiasts, provides attendees with unparalleled insights into the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape.

“We are thrilled by the overwhelming success of the Digital Speaker Series. Digital marketing is constantly evolving, and today Pat Spillane will discuss his ability to provide innovative solutions and insights that are essential for success in this dynamic field,” Head of Department of Business & Management, Dr Alison Sheridan, stated.

Pat Spillane junior, son of Kerry legend and former RTÉ pundit, Pat Spillane senior, currently lines out for Sligo GAA and Dublin club St Judes as well as developing and driving the brand of Lucozade Sport in a full-time capacity.

Pat took to the stage to deliver a captivating talk around his career journey to date highlighting both on and offline campaigns he has worked on to help reinforce the brand nationally.

“Pat spoke extensively about the use of social media applications such as TikTok, Snapchat and Twitch to engage the 18-24-year-old market nationally. Pat also discussed a campaign in collaboration with the IRFU ahead of the 2023 Rugby World Cup showcasing the vast range of opportunity in the digital marketing field,” Daniel Seery, a lecturer in the Department of Business and Management at TUS, added.

According to lecturer in the Department of Business and Management at TUS, Eugene Pettit, the Digital Speaker Series is set for another exciting year.

“We have speakers lined up from a multitude of sectors highlighting the wide range of career opportunities for graduates. We are continuing to grow and strengthen our links with industry providing students with opportunities to network and engage with leaders within the sector,” Mr Pettit remarked.
