Dubarry Park was the pristinely prepared venue for the final round of this year’s ITA Development Touch Series (DTS ) at Dubarry Park and it was an occasion which proved successful for Buccaneers Touch Rugby Club.
Buccs were able to field two strong teams, the Buccaneers and the Pirates, with the Buccaneers topping the table on the day and taking the honours with three wins from four matches. In one of the most keenly contested games of the day, the Buccaneers came from behind to edge the local derby against the Pirates 3-2.
The day ended with the 2023 DTS bronze medal match and cup final, Buccs claiming the series bronze medal with a comprehensive 5-1 win over the Barbarians.
Congratulations to Racoon West from Galway who won the series for the inaugural time with a 3-2 win over the Marley Park Tipsters in the cup final.
Buccs Touch were also honoured to have Dion Chitanda achieving the overall accolade of series ‘MVP’.
Buccaneers RFC president (and indeed ITA President ) Brendan Wilkins was present on the occasion to award the silverware to all the winners after a very enjoyable day of touch rugby.
