Athlone Film Club will make a post-pandemic return to the Dean Crowe Theatre in September.
The club, which screens art house and foreign language movies, recently announced its schedule for the 2023-2024 season.
They will host six film screenings in total, commencing in September and concluding in February 2024.
A spokesperson for Athlone Film Club stated that the new season will feature a selection of “exciting and thought-provoking” films.
The first movie of the season, ‘The Blue Caftan’, will screen at the Dean Crowe Theatre on Tuesday, September 12. The Moroccan drama was shortlisted for this year’s Oscars in the ‘International Feature Film’ category.
Subsequent films to be screened include Plan 75 (October 10 ), The Beasts (November 14 ), War Pony (December 12 ), Harka (January 16 ) and The Night of the 12th (February 13 ).
For each of the screenings, doors will open at 7.30pm, the film commencing at 8pm. The cost is €10 per film, cash only.
