Renowned ‘The Six Marys’ play to perform at Kiltoom Parish Hall

‘THE SIX MARYS’, written and narrated by Jean Farrell, with supporting actress/singer Catherine Gallagher, will be performed during Easter week, in Kiltoom Parish Hall, Ballybay, on Wednesday, April 12 and Thursday, April 13, at 8pm.

In the play Jean reads from diaries. These tell the stories of six girls christened Mary, spanning six decades of their lives.

The 1950s diaries tell of nuns, processions, gym slips and much more. The 1960s diaries are about their search for Mr. Wonderful. In the 1970s diaries the Marys begin married life. Throughout the following decades the friends meet regularly. The Marys discuss the true realities of married life, rearing babies, children, teenagers and then life, when all have left home.

‘THE SIX MARYS’ play has been greatly enjoyed by audiences, in more than 100 theatres, all over Ireland and in the UK. It is very funny, yet poignant. Many people have come to see it again and again
