A sporting occasion to savour, Athlone Athletics Club members, Edel Doyle and Sinead Hegarty, participated in the Lanzarote marathon on Saturday morning last.
Over an undulating and testing marathon route, both ladies performed admirably in warm temperatures and crossed the line in tandem, their goal of starting and finishing the race together achieved.
Both ladies recently completed the Dublin City marathon and were richly deserved of the praise received in the days following their 26.2 mile journey in Lanzarote!
