Following a recent call out for participants for the newest Local Live Performance Scheme (LLPPS ) – part IIII, Westmeath Arts Office is delighted to report that Event Organisers have once again come to the fore to offer a wide range of artistic performances to the Westmeath audience this Autumn.
This scheme is part four in the series of the Local Live Performance Programming Schemes which is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media with an aim to support the recovery of the live performance sector through assisting local authorities to fund live performances and events of local artists, musicians, technicians and other professional practitioners within their locality.
Since the initiative began in 2021, Westmeath County Council Arts Office have worked with Event Organisers throughout Westmeath to offer a huge range of performances from music concerts, storytelling, circus acts, dance shows and musician placements in Nursing Homes and care settings to name a few. The scheme has played a big part in revitalising the professional performing arts scene in the County and many participants and audiences have referred to the scheme as a vital support while the country began emerging from the restrictions of Covid 19.
