Athlone Golf Club Junior member, Charlie Kelly, has been selected to represent Ireland at the Boys Home Internationals taking place this week at Downfield.

Golf Club Lotto
There was no winner of last week’s Lotto Jackpot of €3,200 so Friday night’s Jackpot will be €3,400. There were three Match 3 winners each receiving €70. The numbers drawn were 4, 7, 17, 19.
Upcoming Competitions
On Saturday/Sunday, August 6/7, the Hodson Bay Hotel presents the Hodson Bay Cup for competition. This Cup is played annually and was first played over 50 years ago. Athlone Golf Club gratefully acknowledges the continued sponsorship of the present owners of the Hodson Bay Hotel.
Inter Club Matches
The Senior Foursomes Team had a great win over Portumna last week and they now progress to the Connacht Final in Gort. Team Managers, Lizzy O’Sullivan and Clare Dowling, were very impressed with the high standard of golf played by both teams, Ann Geoghegan and Yvonne Walsh winning on the 17th hole in Athlone.
In Portumna, Catherine Fitzgerald, Siobhan McGrath and Celeste O’Regan and Alacoque O’Connor played amazing golf with Celeste and Alacoque winning on the 18th green to clinch the place in the final for Athlone Golf Club.
