Athlone Town AFC has issued a statement condemning a robbery which occurred at the Lissywollen Stadium this past weekend.
The statement, issued by the club, noted that officials were still assessing the full cost of damage caused by the robbery.
‘Several items were taken from an office in the stadium, including the club’s computer. The club is disappointed and annoyed that this has happened but it is determined not to let the culprits previal.
‘Athlone Town AFC’s board is calling on the public to help assist An Garda Siochana on its investigation of the robbery. Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in and around the ground over the weekend are urged to contact the Gardaí in Athlone at 090 6498850 or any Garda station.’
