New data from the CSO shows the number of homes sold in County Westmeath in 2019.
They also revealed the average cost of a home in the region.
In total, 800 homes were sold in Westmeath, which is the most in the Midlands region. The average cost of a home in the county was €176,750, which is also the most expensive in the region. The average age of a home buyer in the county was 39, and their income was €54,975.
Westmeath also sold the most homes in the region, with Mullingar selling the most in the county (300 ) at an average of €185,300. In total, 220 homes were bought in Athlone at €176,500 on average, while 160 homes were sold in Kinnegad at an average of €180,500 and 120 were sold in Moate at an average premium of €165,000.
