Guests from the worlds of business and technology recently gathered at the five-star InterContinental Dublin for a stylish International Women’s Day lunch hosted by Carmel Owens, CEO of Athlone’s cloud and digital transformation company, Sidero, the event being held in aid of the Oesophageal Cancer Fund.
Monksland-based Sidero builds mission critical software for some of the most successful Irish and global companies.
Over a sumptuous lunch, guests enjoyed lively Q&A discussions with inspiring female leaders.
Led by Carmel Owens, those in attendance heard from Dorothy Creaven, Vice President, Managing Director and Site Lead at Rent the Runway. She spoke about forging a gender-equal world by celebrating women’s achievements, increasing visibility, and calling out inequality.
Guests also heard from Dr Nora Khaldi, founder and CEO of biotechnology company Nuritas, about her experiences as a female entrepreneur in the areas of mathematics and science.
The final speaker on the day was author and journalist Emily Hourican, who spoke, among other things, about bridging the diversity gap in the workplace.
