Marist College afforded second opportunity to progress in Leinster schools championship

Marist College will be afforded an opportunity to attain a Leinster Senior Football ‘A’ Championship semi-final berth, it has been confirmed.

In correspondence issued by Leinster GAA Post-Primary Schools secretary, Noel Delaney, a replay of the final four contest against Naas CBS will take place in Kinnegad on Saturday afternoon, throw in 1pm.

The replay has been ordered on foot of Naas CBS using six substitutes in the fixture on Saturday last, a thrilling encounter which was won by the County Kildare secondary school.

“An issue occurred in this game last Saturday in Kinnegad in that Naas CBS used six substitutes and following a Leinster Schools CCC meeting on Monday afternoon, it has been agreed/decided that this game will be replayed on Saturday, January 22,” Mr Delaney stated.

Having now been afforded a second opportunity, Marist College will be hoping to reverse the final scoreboard scoreline on Saturday afternoon and advancing to the semi-final stage of this prestigious schools competition.
