Westmeath to the fore with number of Covid-19 vaccinations administered

Over 4,000 vaccines have been administered in the Midlands region since Christmas, with a total of 506 individual recipients in County Westmeath.

Between December 20 and 26, there were 4,849 jabs administered in the region with 1,155 being processed in Westmeath.

Since the start of the Covid-19 vaccination process, just over 300,000 vaccines have been administered in the Midlands region to date, according to the latest figures from the HSE, Westmeath leading the way with 135,076 doses being administered.

Covid-19 Test Centre Swabbing

Meanwhile, as schools reopen within the local community today despite the persistent presence of the Omicron variant, the HSE has confirmed that 5,721 appointments were offered at the Athlone GAA Covid-19 pop-up test centre in the week from December 27 to January 2 inclusive, with 1,010 swabs processed on December 29.
