Athlone GAA in association with Marsh Nissan Athlone/Tullamore, the Sheraton Athlone Hotel and the Irish Kidney Association launched the club’s car draw fundraising initiative on Friday night last.
The draw, which will take place on St Patrick’s Day 2022, will see one lucky person drive away in a brand-new Nissan Juke Enigma courtesy of Marsh Nissan. Other prizes include 40,000 Marriot Bonvoy Points (equates to approximately €1,000 towards accommodation ) redeemable at any Marriott Bonvoy Hotel worldwide together with €500 towards flights.
There is also an early bird draw for all those who purchase a ticket before January 2022, where the winner will receive a two night mid-week break in the Galway Bay Hotel.
One euro from every ticket sold will also be donated to the Irish Kidney Association a cause which is very dear to Athlone GAA as club legend John Egan and his father-in-law Ollie recover following John’s successful kidney transplant last week.
Tickets, priced at €20 for one and €50 for a book of three, are available online at www.marshnissan.ie and www.athlonegaaclub.com and also from club members.
There are also seller’s monthly incentives so if you wish to become involved in selling tickets please contact Athlone GAA at [email protected] for further information.
Speaking at the launch, John Connellan, acknowledged the need to provide the best possible playing structures and facilities for the people of Athlone.
“This fundraiser is vitally important to enable us to deliver on some of our ambitious development plans and to provide a fun, safe and comfortable environment for the 400 plus children who come through the gates of Páirc Chiarán on a weekly basis. We are so thrilled to be supported in this project by Marsh Nissan and the Sheraton Athlone Hotel, without which, Clubs like ourselves would fail to survive.
“Their generosity is hugely appreciated and I think it’s clear, the standard of prizes on offer represents enormous value for money for all ticket buyers.
“If every person in the town of Athlone purchased only one ticket, it would change the face of the GAA within the town. We hope that the people of Athlone can really get behind this fundraiser and we can’t wait to see someone drive away in this gorgeous car, or, jet off to somewhere exotic like New York, or, Sydney,” John enthused.
