Athlone and Moate libraries extend services on offer to public

Both Athlone and Moate libraries have extended their services.

As well as offering browsing and borrowing facilities, you will now be able to book a study space or use a computer or WiFi. In addition, there is welcome access to the local studies departments in Athlone.

In order to ensure that those attending their local library have a safe and enjoyable visit, it is advisable that physical distancing and good hand hygiene remain in place with visits not exceeding two hours. The use of self-service kiosks to issue and return items is recommended.

You can download the free Westmeath Libraries App which will allows you to search the catalogue and checkout your own books using your phone.

Surfbox printers will be available for photocopying and to collect printing ordered remotely. Visit www.printcopyandgo.com/print-location-search/ to access remote printing options in your local library.

Public computers may be booked for 15 minute or one hour sessions, while study spaces must be booked in advance - visit www.westmeathcoco.ie/library for details.

Athlone and Moate libraries will open with a late night service until 8pm each Thursday.

There will be a limit on the number of visitors allowed into each library at any one time while those in attendance should continue to wear a face covering while in the libraries.

The online request system continues to offer free access to the stock of libraries around Ireland with requests to be placed at https://librariesireland.iii.com/iii/encore.
