A total of 844 persons presented for a Covid-19 swab at the walk-in test centre which opened for three consecutive days in St Aloysius College.
The walk-in centre was operational from Thursday to Saturday last in response to a suspected Delta variant outbreak of Covid-19 cases linked to socialising by the river on the west side of the town on June 11.
Meanwhile, the reopening of indoor dining has been delayed until at least July 19, An Taoiseach Micheál Martin confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.
The confirmed news is a further blow to the local hospitality industry amid the peak of the tourist season.
Indoor dining will initially return solely to accommodate vaccinated people or those who have recovered from Covid-19, with a system for managing the process to be determined in the coming times.
July 5 will bring some positive news with wedding attendance due to increase from 25 to 50 persons and supporters attending outdoor events being increased from 200 to 500 for stadia or venues with a capacity of over 5,000.
Furthermore, there will be no limit on the number of persons who can visit together if they are all fully protected by vaccination or have recovered from Covid-19 infection in the previous nine months.
