New inspector welcomed by judge

Judge John Neilan extended a warm welcome to Inspector Kieran Keyes who has been assigned to Mullingar Garda Station.

He described him as “very competent” and said he had known him as a sergeant in Tullamore and would be happy to assist him in any way.

He wished him every success as he progresses through the ranks and said his eyes “should be on the role of commissioner”.

Ms Rita Monaghan said the District Court office wished to be associated with the judge’s remarks as did Mr Tom Ryder of the Probation Services.

Mr Louis Kiernan on behalf of the legal profession said the inspector could be assured of their co-operation and courtesy.

Inspector Keyes, who is originally from Laois and has been working at the Garda College in Templemore since being promoted to the rank of inspector thanked everyone for their kind words and assured them of his co-operation.
