The Dean Crowe Theatre has launched a live mini-series of free online conversations and entertainment.
Each week, these Thursday evening sessions will focus on a different community organisation and feature different guests.
The episodes will cover all parts of the community from heritage to healthcare, education to environment, sport to business, hospitality to tourism and of course arts, culture and entertainment.
Dean Crowe Dialogues will host a number of guests, spark some conversation, a bit of nostalgia and invite active involvement from the audience.
This series will be presented via Zoom and will run live on Thursday nights at 8pm. To access the episodes, visit the Dean Crowe website www.deancrowetheatre.com with the first episode airing tonight, Thursday, April 15, at 8pm and featuring Athlone Musical Society.
The following episodes will feature Athlone GAA, Athlone Boat Club and a host of other community organisations.

"At a time when we cannot bring people together inside the doors of the Dean Crowe, our aim with this project is to support the many outstanding clubs, societies and groups in our community. Giving a platform to these groups and reconnecting with our audience, these short episodes should provide some focus and hope as we all move closer to reopening," Theatre manager, Killian Collins, stated.
The episodes will also feature a number of local artists with performances throughout the series. The series is supported in part by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Westmeath County Council Covid-19 Emergency Fund and is part of the Government's 'Keep Well' campaign.
The Dean Crowe Theatre and Arts Centre closed its doors on March 12 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
In the past year, it has continued to support a number of artists and community groups by providing filming space to a number of professional artists for digital projects, continuing the One Tribe Arts Ability Project in collaboration with St. Hilda’s and Rehab Care Athlone, launching the Dean Crowe Artist Development Space opportunity, and working with local stage schools, youth groups, and community groups to facilitate workshops and small events during periods of lower level restrictions.
Dean Crowe Dialogues is the first of a number of online/digital events to be presented by the venue over the coming months. The theatre management are also in the process of developing an autumn season of in-person events with some digital and hybrid events also in the mix. These will be announced during the summer.
