Athlone Chamber of Commerce has signalled that a major investment in marketing will be required to boost the tourism and retail sectors in the town for 2021.
“We are weeks away from the start of 2021 and as a town we need to ensure that we are prepared to drive the recovery of our tourism and retail sectors with a planned marketing campaign that will be supported and funded by the many stakeholders.
“Athlone Chamber of Commerce will be working closely with Destination Athlone in 2021 by combining resources to help rebuild a strong and resilient tourism and retail sector. We want to put Athlone back on the map and attract new visitors to our town.
“Athlone Chamber looks forward to working with Westmeath County Council, Destination Athlone, Failte Ireland and our many members during the coming months to rebuild the core of our town and welcome a new wave of visitors post Covid-19,” Chamber President, Alan Shaw, asserted.
