All new Toyota Yaris Hybrid on sale at Joe Lynch & Sons

Following the launch of the new Toyota Yaris petrol earlier in the year, the all new Yaris self-charging hybrid, priced from €23,055, is now on sale at Joe Lynch & Sons Ltd., in Lakeview, Athlone.

The Yaris is just one of a range of new generation self-charging Toyota hybrid vehicles available to view, test drive and purchase from Joe Lynch & Sons Ltd.

The new Yaris features the same hybrid technology as the Corolla hybrid, making it more efficient and powerful. It can also travel from 0 to 100 km/h is 9.7 seconds.

Toyota says the all-new Yaris spends most of the time in EV mode, 80 percent in fact. This gives drivers the benefits of a battery electric vehicle, but at a lower price and with no concerns about when or where the battery can be recharged.

It also claims that the CO2 emissions have dropped to 88 g/km and the WLTP combined cycle fuel economy figure is 3.9 l/100/km. This is a 20 per cent improvement, according to the Japanese carmaker.

The new Yaris has been redesigned both inside and out. Toyota describes the car’s exterior design concept as “condensed and agile”.

It says that the interior features high-quality materials include a felt trim finish for the door panels, and for the first time in a Yaris, a soft-touch instrument panel.

The new Yaris is the first application of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA ) philosophy to a small car through the new GA-B platform. Toyota tells us that the GA-B platform is central to the Yaris’ improved dynamic performance, giving a lower centre of gravity and much greater body rigidity, along with lower noise and vibration levels.

It adds that the new hatchback also features Toyota ‘Safety Sense’ active systems as standard, which includes ‘Advanced Driver Assistance Systems’ (ADAS ), such as ‘Lane Trace Assist’, ‘Emergency Steering Assist’ and ‘Intersection Turn Assistance’, noting that the functionality of the Pre-Collision System has been increased so that it can detect pedestrians by day and night and cyclists in daytime driving.

The Intersection Turn Assistance is a segment-first - it recognises collision risks with oncoming traffic and pedestrians when making a turn at a crossroads, and the new Yaris Hybrid is the first Toyota to be equipped with centre airbags.

Toyota says that an eight inch touchscreen display, wireless smartphone integration, smart entry and special ambient cabin lighting around the driver’s cockpit are additional features. In addition, it adds that the steering wheel size has also been reduced for better visibility.

211 offers including up to €3,000 finance contribution

Meanwhile, Toyota has also announced a range of offers that it say will help drivers on their way to affordable electrified motoring.

The company says that new Toyota hybrid buyers can avail of finance contributions of up to €3,000, APRs from 2.9 per cent, trade-in boosters up to €2,500 for non-finance customers, and enjoy three years free servicing as standard.

It adds that with these new offers, customers who purchase a new Toyota before February 28, 2021, will benefit from a two per cent VAT reduction.

Finally, Toyota boasts that from an environmental point of view, it claims it has the lowest CO2 output of any mass market car brand.
