Coláiste Chiaráin embraces the future as refurbished school building unveiled

A pivotal moment in the brief education history of Coláiste Chiaráin occurred on Friday afternoon last with the formal unveiling of the new refurbished and enhanced school building.

Speaking to the Athlone Advertiser this week, School Principal, Brendan Waldron, welcomed the culmination of construction as he and his peers prepare for the forthcoming academic year.

“We are delighted to receive the completed school building prior to the start of the academic year and immense gratitude must be afforded to the collaborative nature of the project.

“Credit in the main is due to our contractor, JJ Rhatigan, who constructed the state of the art school premises to its fruition as we prepare for the return to education.

“In the present climate with COVID-19 still prevalent within our community we are fortunate to be starting the new academic year in a spacious school building which will allow the 65 staff members and 560 students the opportunity to return to a safe environment in which to teach and learn,” Mr Waldron enthused.
