Athlone Town Mayor, Cllr. Aengus O’Rourke has welcomed the announcement by Bus Éireann to issue school transport refunds while the service was not in use during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I have had a number of representations from families who use school transport concerned that they did not hear from Bus Éireann or receive a refund from the company due to the pandemic.
“I am pleased to say that I have received confirmation from Bus Éireann that refunds will issue this week for the period of time that the service was not required, namely from mid-March to the end of the school term in May/June.
“In the event that people do not receive a refund or have questions about the refund received, there is a dedicated email address that they should send their query to, [email protected].
“I would like to thank Mary Crehan, School Transport Manager, Bus Éireann, and her team for their prompt action on this matter,” Cllr. O’Rourke stated.
