Local Authority offices now reopen to public in line with Government guidance

In line with the Government’s Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business all Westmeath County Council Offices reopened to the public on Monday of this week.

Westmeath County Council has continued to deliver vital public services in the challenging circumstances arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and are being continuously advised by relevant Government and Public Agencies in doing so.

Customers attending Westmeath County Council offices must adhere to physical distancing and cough/sneeze etiquette in accordance with public health measures and advice, use the hand sanitisation facilities provided, restrict the duration of their visit to the minimum time necessary, use contactless payments methods as far as possible and comply with instructions from staff regarding management of the public areas and queuing

Westmeath Library Service has been reopening on a phased basis since June 8 and is now open to the public with numbers limited in accordance with public health advice. Westmeath County Council’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to be informed by advice from the HSE and Public Health Authorities and is subject to ongoing review.

Festival and Grant Scheme

Meanwhile, Westmeath County Council is inviting applications for grant support for Festival and Events to be held in the period from July to December 2020.

The purpose of the scheme is to encourage and promote local events, particularly events that involve significant voluntary input and generate increased economic and community activity for the local area.
