Collinstown man for Mr Personality 2009

Raymond Halpin will represent Westmeath at the 4th annual Mr Personality Festival which is being organised by Kilkenny Macra na Feirme. The festival will take place this weekend April 24 and 25  The festival is again sponsored by Kilkenny Carlow and District Farm Relief Services.

Raymond is a 20 year old from the Collinstown club. His interests and hobbies include football and swimming. Raymond believes he makes a good representative as he is well-known throughout Macra and likes meeting people.  

The contestants will arrive at the Springhill Court Hotel at 7pm tonight with the on-stage interviews starting at 9pm. Former Macra president Matt O’Keeffe will be conducting the interviews. This will be followed by music from Domino Effect and DJ until late. 

Raymond will have an early start on Saturday morning as contestant challenges take place in the hotel ballroom starting at 9.30am. After lunch each contestant will be interviewed by the judges – Seamus Phelan, former Macra president; Clara Walshe, head of news, Midland Radio; and Imelda Kinsella, former County Macra Person of the Year in Kilkenny. 

Then on Saturday evening after a photocall with the sponsors, the informal banquet will take place starting at 8pm. Mr Personality 2009 will be announced at midnight.
