Confirmed COVID-19 county case figures continue to decrease

As the nation makes vast progressive strides towards Monday, June 8, and the aspiration that Phase 2 on the Roadmap to Recovery will commence, the most recent numbers pertaining to confirmed COVID-19 cases within county Westmeath show a figure of 663 (as of midnight, May 24 ).

While this figure is an increase of seven confirmed cases during this past week, it is also a positive indication that the virus is becoming suppressed within local communities, due to the consistent and diligent public health adherence of the county's population.

Despite the recent spell of sunshine laden weather, confirmed cased of COVID-19, both locally and nationally, appear to be on the wane, with a landmark occasion on Monday evening when no deaths associated with the virus were announced by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tony Holohan.

While there is no guarantee that Phase 2 on the Roadmap to Recovery will be formally enacted on Monday week, should relevant figures continue to boast a positive glean towards virus suppression, the likelihood remains that a further easing of restrictions step will be taken.
