Kindred Athlone Musical Society spirits are stage ready

Kindred musical spirits, Joan Larkin and Alfie Kilduff, have garnered a wealth of on and off stage experience during their years with Athlone Musical Society (AMS ).

Now celebrating her 39th year with the Society, Joan Larkin is presently tasked with the role of Chairperson, taking pride in being only the second female to hold such a committee decision in the history of AMS. Making her debut in 1981, Joan has graced the stage in 37 consecutive shows since 1984, alongside her friend and theatre colleague, Alfie Kilduff.

Alfie has evolved over the years from performing a variety of leading role characters to the challenging but creative role as Director for Athlone Musical Society’s recent productions. He is also predominantly involved with the annual Athlone Christmas pantomime.

Alfie’s love for theatre is evident as his own stage school for children, AKT (Alfie Kilduff Theatre ), is a huge success and is a major asset to the Midlands region.

Congratulations and a special word of thanks are afforded to both Joan and Alfie for their longstanding commitment to Athlone Musical Society.

This year’s production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, runs from Saturday, February 29 until Saturday, March 7 (there will be no performance on Wednesday, March 4 ). Tickets are currently available from the Dean Crowe Theatre. Call 0906492129 to book.
