Local Independent Councillor, Michael O’Brien, has welcomed plans to move the AIT bus stop from its current location on the Garrycastle road to the Dublin road, close to the third level institution’s nursing faculty and the Shannon Retail Park.
“I recently tabled a council motion in this particular regard calling for this bus stop to be moved to a more suitable location because of the serious traffic jams that were occurring when two buses were stationary on the both sides of the Garrycastle road.
“I am particularly delighted to see that the local authority have identified a new location and have drawn up plans that will now go out to tender for works to be carried out at this new location,” Cllr. O’Brien commented.
