The redevelopment and refurbishment of the Athlone Springs Hotel, which was purchased in summer of last year by Supermacs proprietors, Pat and Una McDonagh, will lead to the creation of employment at the Monksland establishment.
The Galway businessman recently announced an investment of €1.5 million in the Athlone Springs Hotel to develop and refurbish the hotel and together with planned works at the Castle Oaks House Hotel, Limerick and the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise, under the SÓ Hotels Group brand, it is hoped that 100 jobs will be created.
The Supermacs supremo noted that the positivity in the Midlands region was one of the key reasons for recent investments.
“We provide sustainable jobs and careers in parts of the country that need them, we become active members of the community as well and also give a commitment to the communities in which we are involved,” Mr. McDonagh remarked.
The group currently employs over 4,000 people throughout the country through company, franchisee and hotel employees and is on a major recruitment drive for management staff in particular.
“We will be engaging in a major recruitment drive and offer career opportunities at all levels. We put structured career paths in place and we are looking for people that want a career, people that will stay develop with us. We have an extensive careers page with testimonials from company employees and management at www.sohotels.ie/careers,” Mr. McDonagh concluded.
