Sheraton scoops Best Business Hotel Award

At a recent ceremony in Portlaoise, the team at Sheraton Athlone Hotel was awarded 'Best Business Hotel' at the Midlands 103 Hospitality Awards.

These awards seek to recognise and reward excellence in service, quality, value, experience, creativity and innovation in the hotel, restaurant and pub sectors.

Midlands 103’s listeners were invited to nominate their favourite venue across the various sectors, from which a shortlist was then compiled. The Sheraton Athlone Hotel was shortlisted for the Best Business Hotel Award by more than 119,000 listeners, and this was followed by a visit from the esteemed judging panel during April.

Built in 2008 with two floors of purpose built conference space, the Sheraton Athlone Hotel is fast becoming one of Ireland’s premier conference destinations. With the delegate in mind, the hotel lends itself to various types of conferences, meetings and events to suit any and every requirement. Catering for two to 1,200 delegates, the hotel offers 11 flexible meeting spaces complete with AV, sound proofing and complimentary WiFi. Modern, chic interiors provide the perfect backdrop for any event.

Garrett McGuinness, general manager of Sheraton Athlone, said he is delighted that the hotel has been recognised with this prestigious award, which is a testament to his loyal and friendly staff.

"Our corporate culture is built on the three pillars of respect for our customers, respect for our staff and respect for the local community," said Mr McGuinness. "It is a great source of pride for the company to be the first hotel in the Midlands to win the overall Best Business Hotel accolade."

Mr McGuinness paid tribute to the hotel's staff for their relentless pursuit of excellence.
