Ryan’s men make it three on the spin

Westmeath sit on top of the Joe McDonagh Cup table following another impressive 2-12 to 0-15 win over Kerry at Austin Stack Park.

Michael Ryan’s improving team have claimed three wins on the spin following a hard earned success down south.

Niall O’Brien struck a 16th minute goal which ensured Westmeath went in at the interval armed with a 1-7 to 0-8 lead.

Kerry, though, improved immediately after the restart and had edged two points ahead before Darragh Clinton bagged an important goal for the visitors.

Westmeath’s next fixture in the competition is on June 2 against Antrim at TEG Cusack Park in Mullingar.
