Curator response series at Luan Gallery

=Luan Gallery will introduce Dr Kirstie North in the second installment of its 'Lunchtime Curator Response' series, which will take place on Saturday, May 12, at 2pm.

Join Kirstie and artists Fiona Kelly and Margo McNulty for a lunchtime response to the current exhibitions, 'The Great Heap' and 'Archive'.

North is an art historian and independent curator who lectures in University College Cork.

Both Fiona and Margo translate traditional forms of printmaking to contemporary art, constructing meaning from age old printmaking techniques combined with video, installation and 3D works. The combination of these two artists’ works and their use of printmaking to address themes of memory, the passing of time and our interaction with the environment create some food for thought in the upcoming talk with Dr Kirstie North.

Curator Katriona Gillespie said: "This is an ideal opportunity for those interested in the work of Fiona Kelly and Margo McNulty to join the discussion about the prevalent themes and ideas presented in each of the artist’s works. This Lunchtime Curator’s Response session will take place in a relaxed setting here at Luan Gallery and is designed to create greater access to the current work on exhibition."

The Lunchtime Curators Response takes place on Saturday, May 21, at 2pm. No booking is required but places are limited.

The event is open to the public free of charge, with tea and coffee served on the day.
