Peter Leahy's side currently sit in third place in the table with three wins, two losses, and a draw to their name. Their most recent victory came last weekend when they saw off the challenge of Ulster champions Donegal in a high scoring encounter on a scoreline of 5-14 to 4-12 in Swinford.

It was nice to sit back and relax on Easter weekend to watch the league finals played out on Saturday and Sunday without having to deal with the pressures and roller coaster emotions of the previous week.
Laois deservedly claimed the division four title with a fairly comprehensive victory over surprise finalists Carlow. After what was pretty much a turbulent week for Laois football because of a tweet sent out by star forward Gary Walsh that created all sorts of backlash it was nice they had silverware to end the week on a high.

It is 41 years since the Hogan Cup crossed the Mayo border, when St Colman's, Claremorris, claimed the famed schools' football title back in 1977, it is 21 years since a Mayo team competed in the final of the competition when St Gerald's, Castlebar, lost out in Croke Park, and on Saturday it is the turn of Rice College, Westport, to have a crack at glory.
