Fine Gael Councillor, Neil Cruise, has this week confirmed that Mr Michael Ring TD, the Minister for Rural and Community Development, is set to announce €200,000 in funding for the construction of the first phase of the Foxford/Pontoon Greenway, under his Department’s Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.

The charity was founded at a meeting in Claremorris Town Hall on Sunday, January 25, 1970 and on Saturday, January 25, the present board held a commemorative meeting at the same venue.

Chambers is eager to keep working for Mayo

General Election 2020 will mark the third time that Lisa Chambers has put herself before the people of Mayo in a general election - yet it all still feels very new to her, Chambers told the Mayo Advertiser this week: "I suppose, going back it was just 11 years ago when I joined Fianna Fáil and we were just talking about it with my team and I still feel very new, even though I am the best part of ten years in politics - I contested my first election in 2011 - you are learning all the time."
