Disability sports

A new swimming lesson course for children with a disability will start on Wednesday May 6 in Westport Leisure Park at 5.15pm to 6pm. The eight week course costs €50. Hold the Grand Slam trophy

To celebrate Ireland’s Grand Slam victory and to thank Mayo rugby fans for signing up to the Be the Difference campaign, O2 is giving them the chance to get their hands on the coveted Six Nations and Triple Crown silverware and have their photo taken. O2’s Grand Slam Trophy tour will visit O2 Store, Castlebar, today (Friday May 1) from 2.40pm to 3.20pm.

Get involved for Chernobyl charity

Construction may be on a slow-down throughout the country, but the Chernobyl Children’s Project Westport Outreach Group is about to start building a very special house in central Westport. Constructed from the hundreds of bricks designed by the town’s children, it will be housed in the new premises — just off Mill Street, to the right of the Mill Street car park entrance — all designed for the Chernobyl Groups Bricks 4 Hope campaign.
