Three more ladies make their way into the finals of Miss Mayo

Last Saturday night three more stunning ladies were selected for the Mayo heats of Miss Ireland at Choice nightclub. The national final will take place in Dublin during September. The lucky ladies are Jean Burke, Deirdre Quigley, and Melissa Mills who will go on to the Miss Mayo final on Thursday week, September 9, in Choice nightclub at the TF Royal Hotel.

While it was the latest leg of his solo tour, Mundy had a fantastic surprise for his fans on Saturday night last as Castlebar Gospel Choir made a wonderfully vibrant appearance to accompany him on some of his biggest hits.

Next is the title of the new exhibition of paintings, prints and more which opened yesterday, August 26, at The Wright Gallery on the Quay in Westport. The show is the latest offering by the Wright Artists collective, a group of locally-based artists comprising Breda Burns, Mags Duffy, Betty Gannon, Pam Gray, Claire Griffin, Mary O’Grady, Gráinne O’Reilly, Susie Quinn, Sinéad Wall and Ian Wieczorek. This vibrant new exhibition is the third in an ongoing series planned for the artist-run gallery, located in Sue Wright’s former craft shop situated directly opposite the Custom House Studios.
