Significant IFA support for EU Treaty referendum – O’Mahony

Fine Gael TD for Mayo and Vice–Chair of the Joint Oireachtas Committee for Communications, Natural Resources and Agriculture, John O’Mahony, has described the decision by the Irish Farmers Association’s (IFA) Executive Council this week to recommend a Yes vote on the Stability Treaty to its almost 90,000 members, as a significant step in the campaign to ratify the Treaty.

Deputy Calleary moves Bill to ban upward only rent reviews

Fianna Fáil has published a Bill to ban clauses within business leases which provide exclusively for upward only rent reviews. Spokesperson on Justice Dara Calleary moved the Landlord and Tenant (Business Leases Rent Review) Bill 2012 in the Dáil on Wednesday and is has now been submitted for selection to the Ceann Comhairle.

Drama comes to the Ballinrobe

Truman Town Theatre bring their new play, Velvet Revolution to the Valkenburg Hotel from Wednesday March 28 for five nights, ending on Sunday April 1. Velvet Revolution is an exciting new play from Truman Town Theatre. In typical fashion, the drama is dialogue based with lots of wit, sarcasm, and black humour. Fyodor and Shelly are a young couple living in an undisclosed town in rural Ireland. Shelly is the beautiful seductive blonde who torments the insecure Fyodor with her adulterous antics and behaviour. She constantly alludes to the men she met at the bar, her past lovers, and the lack of excitement in her marriage by comparison. Fyodor plays the struggling writer, a victim to naive romance and artistic values, he uses gambling to escape what he believes are the torments of his tortured soul.
