Mayo employers, learning-providers and learners encouraged to go ‘green’

City & Guilds recently announced a new suite of ‘green’ qualifications that should be of interest to employers, education centres, and learners in Mayo. The organisation unveiled the qualifications during a Skills and Sustainability seminar organised by City & Guilds in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin last week.

The latest report from property website Daft.ie shows that rents in Connacht fell by 0.3 per cent between June and September. In Mayo average rent fall in the third quarter of 2011 was €575, a fall of €140 from the peak.

A dynamic group of Irish business people are collectively running an online support group for small business via Twitter. The group has grown from two tweeters three months ago to 750 to date. ILAM — the Irish leisure industry employers body which represents gyms, leisure centres, sports, fitness, aquatic and outdoor facilities, has announced that 85 leisure facilities from across Ireland have been awarded White Flags for the year 2011/2012. Those awarded in Mayo were: the leisure club at Breaffy House Resort (formerly Kingfisher Club Breaffy); Ocean Spirit Spa and Leisure Centre, Hotel Westport; The C Club, Castlecourt Hotel; and Westport Leisure Park.
