AIB’s Better Ireland Programme has announced details of the three children’s projects short listed by each branch for the current 2009/2010 programme.
The short listed children’s community groups in Mayo are as follows:
AIB Ballina: Club Vario Youth Project, Moy Valle Branch of the Dyslexia Association of Ireland, Ardagh/Crossmolina Boxing Club and Youth Facility.
AIB Ballinrobe: Roundfort Kreative Kidz, Naíonra Thuar Mhic Eadaigh, Robeen Community Playschool Ltd.
AIB Castlebar: Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland – Mayo Branch, Mayo Children’s Initiative, Western Care Association Autism Team.
AIB Claremorris: Glor na nOg Childcare Centre, Barnacarroll Youth Development Committee, Mayo Autism Action.
AIB Swinford: Foxford Childcare Group Ltd, Carracastle Community Childcare Co Ltd, Autism Classroom – Swinford National School.
AIB Westport: The Cove Youth Café, Achill No Name Club, Westport Youth Activity Club.
Three projects per branch will now be voted on by local communities to decide how the €10,000 funding available at each branch will be distributed.
Text and online votes from the general public will rank the projects. The one that attracts the most votes will be awarded €5,000. Second place will receive €3,000 and third place €2,000.
Voting commences on Monday February 15 and continues until March 15. This year, votes can be cast via text or online. Further details on voting will be announced shortly.
