Finbar Hoban presents ... Alfi at Bridge Street

Nominated as best emerging folk act at The RTE Folk Music Awards 2019 - Alfi are a fresh new trio combining American old-time and traditional Irish music and song to produce a unique and tasteful sound. Their music features an unusual blend of harp, five-string banjo, low whistle, uilleann pipes and vocals.

The wonderful Alfi, who played their first gig at the Arcadian Field Festival in Bellurgan House two years ago, are set to head out on tour to promote their new EP 'Wolves in the Woods'.

The band, comprising Fiachra Meek on uileann pipes, low whistles, bodhran, and vocals, Ryan McAuley on five-string banjo and vocals and Alannah Thornburgh on harp and vocals, first met when studying music at DkIT.

Since forming as a trio, Alfi performed throughout Ireland and abroad, playing in well-established venues and festivals, including Body&Soul, The Trip to Birmingham TradFest and Whelan's, as well as making an impact in the United States.

They recorded and released two tracks in December in collaboration with audio producer Cian Hamilton - 'Cluck Ol' Hen' and 'Lost Girl/Trim the Velvet', and in in February, Alfi released their first music video 'Farewell to Trion' on all music platforms to great critical acclaim. They are now looking forward to touring in support of their EP 'Wolves in the Woods' when they come to the popular Bridge Street Venue in Castlebar on February 21. Tickets are on sale from the bar at Bridge Street and online at Eventbrite. For further details visit www.finbarhobanpresents.com
