Garbos springs into life, Saturday March 7, with Mundy and local support from Rebecca McRedmond at Mayo Leisure Point, Moneen, Castlebar.
Mundy has enjoyed gold and multi platinum record sales in Ireland and also picked up Meteor awards for ‘Best Male’ and ‘Most Downloaded Song’ (for two years running ) with Steve Earle’s ‘Galway Girl’. He recorded the song live with Sharon Shannon with no plan or agenda…and the rest as they say is History!
“I’ve written a lot of new songs that are going down great live and I have more than enough for an album. I am in the process of making an E.P with Producer and old friend, Karl Odlum (Mic Christopher, Gemma Hayes, The Frames, Interference ) for a 2020 release”, said Mundy.
Saturday March 13 sees Mark Geary headlining at Garbos
Mark emigrated to New York City at the age of nineteen and found himself in the middle of a thriving music scene, centered around the East Village and the legendary Sin-e? Cafe. The creative atmosphere was exactly what Mark needed to jump-start his career as a musician and he was soon featured on bills with the likes of Jeff Buckley, Joe Strummer, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Coldplay, The Frames and The Swell Season among others.
Mark has released four studio albums and a live record that was recorded in various venues in NYC and his second album, the acclaimed Ghosts, was named Album of the Year by the Irish Voice. Mark evokes Van Morrison, particularly his early-1970s era, and always delivers a collection of superb songs delivered with a quiet intensity that will endear itself to listeners.
