County council to hold special meeting to deal with backlog

Mayo County Council will host a special meeting on Thursday April 29 at 10am to clear the backlog of items on its agenda. Cathaoirleach of the council, Cllr Damien Ryan, proposed the holding of a special meeting after it was resolved to adjourn the April meeting of the local authority at 5pm last Monday, as a mark of respect to Cllr Frank Durcan after the recent death of his brother John, and to prepare for a civic reception that was being held by the council for the US Ambassador Mr Kevin O’Malley that evening in the council chamber.
