Ireland West Airport staff were delighted this week to present a cheque for €41,395 to the airport’s three staff nominated charities for 2019 – Croí, Hope House and The Jack and Jill Foundation.

Donaghpatrick National School launched the new nationwide show 20k Drop as their major fundraiser for this year in Queally’s Bar Caherlistrane last week. The 20k drop is run nationwide by Pallas Marketing and is similar to the TV show “The Million Pound Drop”. Each of the eight contestants selected will receive €2500 and must place their money on each of eight correct answers. Having answered the eight questions, the contestants keep the remaining amount.

A County Galway widower is commemorating the passing of his late wife by organising a major fundraiser in her memory.

On Saturday November 12, St Colman’s College, Claremorris, brings the hugely popular '20K Drop' to Claremorris in the McWilliam Park Hotel. This show has attracted large audiences all over Ireland for the past 11 years and is fast becoming one of the most popular sources of fund-raising for schools and clubs throughout the country. Contestants are drawn from ticket sales and each contestant will have a chance to win up to €2,500 on the night.

The launch has taken place of the seventh Annual Vodafone Mayo AC 5k series of five races. The 2016 series will start on Tuesday, May 24 and continue weekly on the following four Tuesdays, all at 8pm sharp. Mayo AC are delighted once again to have the sponsorship of Vodafone C&C Cellular for the Series. Brendan Chambers was on hand to launch the series and continues to give great support to athletics in the county. The series also serves as a major fundraiser for the club.
